What We Offer

AND Support into a Jobstart Employment Opportunity

 * During the JobStart scheme you’ll receive at least the National Minimum Wage for 25 hours per week. Your employer may choose to offer you additional hours. Any training you need will also be covered along with other costs such as any uniforms or Personal Protective Equipment you may need *

We are looking for employers to be a part of the Communities in Transition Employability Project for North Belfast

How Much Will It Cost?

Through the jobstart initiative You could give a young person struggling to turn their life around thebreak that they need. And the good news is it will cost you absolutely nothing

What is Jobstart?

The JobStart Scheme is a £20 million fund to create thousands of high quality job opportunities for young people. Funding available for each job opportunity will cover the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week, plus the associated employer National Insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions.

There will also be funding available to support young people to develop new skills and to help them move into sustained employment after they have completed their JobStart funded job.

Through the scheme, you’ll be able to access a pool of young people with potential, ready for an opportunity. The scheme focuses on young people aged between 16 and 24 who are work ready. Young people will be assisted by their work coach to enrol in the scheme.

There is also an employer’s allowance of £1500 / person to cover start up costs and pay for things like training , PPE etc

Additional Benefits

‘Communities in Transition is part of the Executive’s Action plan on Tackling Paramilitary Activity, Criminality and Organised Crime. It aims to support communities where there has been a significant history of paramilitary activity and coercive control, to become more resilient and where Paramilitarism no longer plays a role’

The Youth project will support young people who are at disengaged from mainstream service provision and are at risk of recruitment to Paramilitarism make positive life choices and raise their aspirations for the future.

There are regular updates to local elected members, and they will get to hear about the good work that you are doing!
